The Turkish Air Force intends to host a Spotters Days (as part of the Anatolian Eagle exercise) on Wednesday, July 2nd. Our planned trip runs from the Monday before (June 30th) and includes a visit to the Istanbul Aviation Museum on Tuesday 1st, before an internal flight to Konya, and then returning home on Thursday (3rd July).
Please note: You cannot attend the Spotters Day event without pre-approval from the Turkish Air Force. These applications must be completed and submitted/booked by 2nd May, so you must move quickly.

The current itinerary is outlined below, and costs are shown at the bottom of this section.
Monday 30th June: Flights out from the UK to Istanbul, where we stay overnight. A 36-seat coach will transfer us to Bakirkoy, arriving around 1900hrs, overnight, we will be in Titanik Port and eating at a nearby/hotel.
Tuesday July 1st: Whilst in Istanbul, we spend part of today exploring the Istanbul Aviation Museum. Our private 36-seater coach will depart at 0830hrs. After viewing the museum exhibits, we will be collected at 1300hrs and returned to the hotel to collect to grab a bite. There will be a 1530hrs transfer from the hotel to the airport for a short internal flight to the city of Konya, departing at 1845hrs. We arrivie in Konya at 2010hrs and are transferred to the Novotel by 2 x private vans.
Wednesday 2nd July: Our private vans depart the hotel at 0830hrs to take us to the Spotters Day at Konya AFB to observe the multinational participants of the Anatolian Eagle Exercise. At 1800hrs, once the flying is over for the day, we return on our personal transport to our hotel for a superb social evening.
Thursday, July 3rd: We will transfer from the hotel to Konya Airport in the 2 x vans at 1330hrs in order to check in for the 1620hrs departure to Istanbul. From Istabul we connect to our flights back home.
This trip is offered on a Land-Only basis (flight quotations are available on request).
The COAP team flight will be departing from London on June 30th, flying direct to Istanbul. On Tuesday 1st July will fly from Istanbul to Konya at 1845hrs on TK2038, arriving in Konya at 2010hrs.
The return sees us returning to Konya Airport for 1420hrs for the 1620hrs departure of TK2035 to Istanbul. The COAP team flight, involves a transfer to TK1987 for a 2030hrs departure to London.
Flights are available from your local airport by request; please indicate at the time of booking (and do not book your own flights until the trip is fully confirmed).
If you book your own flights, they MUST closely match the COAP flight times. Quotes are available upon request (the current flight quote is £580).
You are perfectly welcome to make your own travel arrangements to and from Istanbul, but experience tells us that it is far more straightforward if everyone travelling in the COAP group uses HC Travel to ensure we are all booked onto the same internal flights from Istanbul to Konya and for the return.

You must have an approval from the Turkish Air Force to attend this event. The application process is free and COAP can provide you the form to complete.
All applications must be submitted by May 2nd 2025.
We will also provide a full photography briefing on the event before travel, so you know exactly what to expect.
