This represents a truly fantastic weekend of historic aviation photography that will see two COAP shoots over consecutive days. The first is being held at Solway Aviation Museum on Saturday 23rd and the second is at North East Land Sea & Air Museum on Sunday 24th.
Having two locations and an entire team of re-enactors together makes for an extremely rare opportunity to make this happen. Choose to do one event or the other, or both - the choice is yours - but don't miss out on this unique chance.
Saturday 23rd March is the first ever COAP photo shoot at the Solway Aviation Museum.
We are delighted to be working with the Solway Aviation Museum team for the first time and cannot wait to bring this great collection to life.
There will be living history scenes set up featuring an entire crew of re-enactors, inside and outside the hangars.
The primary targets for this shoot are as follows...
Vulcan B2 XJ823 (No 44 Squadron, complete with crew bus)
Phantom FGR2 XV406 (No 111 Squadron)
Lightning F53 ZF583 (in No 56 Squadron markings)
Meteor NF14 WS832
Each airframe will be subject to the COAP magic, with great scenes and lighting - with and without re-enactors.
NOTE! The following day, Sunday 24th, sees COAP travel a short distance east to the North East Land Sea & Air Museums (NELSAM), Sunderland, for another feast of living history photo shoots! See separate event entry on this website.
(Approx 1600hrs to 2100hrs)
Tripods will be essential, no flash guns at night, wear suitable clothing, good footwear, work as a team, listen to the briefing and the instructions on the day. If you need assistance with your camera/settings etc, please ask.
Lens choice will be wide angle (18-55mmm can be useful, 24-105mm mostly, 100-400mmm possible for close up of crews etc). No specialist equipment will be needed to get the results.
